Remove batteries during storage?

Hello All..

I am not fortunate enough to have an electrical supply where I store my '94 Monaco Dynasty. Although I use the battery cut off switch, my batteries will still discharge substantially in the weeks and sometimes months between trips.

Is there any danger in disconnecting the batteries from the MH entirely? I know there are many electronic systems in the MH and I would like to know if anyone has suffered any damage due to prolonged periods of no power to their MH. I'm in CA and have no freezing concerns. My plan is to charge the batteries, disconnect them and keep them maintained with a battery charger as needed.

On my 04 National Tropi-Cal even using the batttery cut off switch there were enough parasitic drains to kill my batteries in less than a month. I stored my motorhome for up to 3 months at a time by removing the positive leads from the batteries and suffered no ill effects. Since the batteries were at full charge when I stored it I never even removed the batteries just disconnected them.

Thanks, bdpreece. I was pretty sure that it shouldn't be a concern. It makes sense, but with all the knowledge and experience floating around here, I couldn't help but want a second opinion.

I never noticed it as a problem but I am told that by disconnecting the batteries the Allison transmission has to re learn how you drive as it resets to factory defaults.

The one time I removed all of my batteries (because of cold weather) I made a diagram of the cable placement and also took a picture. One of my friend who is smarter that I am didn't do all that. When he put them back in he did it wrong and had to replace all of them.
