Removing Onan from 1999 Diplomat

Still having problems with the 7.5 hdkaj. Of course our model doesnt have the gen slide out for service. Anyone have any tips on removing the genset. I know it has a eye bolt for lifting under the top center cover but getting to it is another story. There is no room between the top of the gen and the motorhome to access the cover amd id rather not have it halfway hanging out before i can take that cover off and cherry pick it out of there. Already have the four bolts removed underneath.

I haven't actually removed an Onan but I saw a thread one time
where they built a stand the same height as the gen and pulled
it out onto the stand .

Harbor Freight sells a hydraulic lift table that might be something
you could use in place of building a stand plus they roll around .

They may have had to cut a cross brace in front of the gen
and replaced it with a bolt in brace I don't remember for sure .

HF has a motorcycle jack stand that would be perfect.

I did pull my generator, I was able to do it without cutting the brace, although it was a fairly tight squeeze to get out. I used a combination of a floor jack in back of the bay door brace and a motorcycle jack in front of the brace. I put a strap around the back of the generator and pulled it forward using a come-along. It was a little bit of a balancing act as I transferred the weight of the generator from the floor jack to the motorcycle jack. Once the generator was on the motorcycle jack it was very easy to remove the cover and service the generator.

My onan manual recommends using a fork lift.

In my case I don't think there would be room for the forks until you got past the brace. Essentially there would be not much difference between pulling it on to the forklift arms or the motorcycle jack. Not really sure how Monaco thought it should/could be removed.
