I wish to take out the Magnadyne M9900DVDS radio and Install a Jensen VM9312 with "pop-out" touch screen. The Magnadyne fits in the DIN 1.5 (3-5/6" 84mm x 7-3/16" 182mm) opening in the dash and the Jensen uses a DIN 1 (2-1/8" 50mm x 7-1/8" 180mm) opening. Does anyone know manufacturer name and model of adapter to mount DIN 1 radio in the DIN 1.5 "hole" in the dash. Tech reps at Metra in Florida are helpful, but they don't make install kit/adapter kits for Monaco. Has anyone installed standard-size radio in dash?

Try this Crutchfield website. Their sales persons are some of the most informed I have ever spoken to.

I just checked there site since I already replace my 1.5 DIN Radio with a 1 DIN radio and have a hole above it. They have a Universal DIN pocket that I think many address the issue. But as suggested I would call them to see if it will work.

Try Best Buy. They have several adapter kits for mounting radios.

Gordon66 is right....go to the installation bay at Best Buy and they'll hook you up with what is needed. They also have wiring harnesses that adapt the plug from one radio to another. Usually it's a Ford or Chevy plug to a Jensen, Sony, etc. You may get lucky and find something that adapts the Magnadyne to your Jensen.

The one I have looks very similar and fit perfectly, I cut an opening in the back of the plate to allow for an IPOD connecter. When in use my IPOD sits in the opening below the radio.

My plan is to get a double din unit which includes DVD player, navigation, stereo, etc which would give me some added benefits plus be able to get rid of the crummy factory home theatre set up.
Plus it is easier to mke a hole bigger than it is to make it smaller.
