Replacing couch with recliners-'04 Windsor

I'd like to take the passenger side couch out of the kitchen slide and replace it with recliners. However when I removed the drawer to begin disassembling it I realized the slide on that side is not level with the floor, as the dinning slide is. Has anyone dealt with the lip on that slide? I'd like to be able to move the recliner around once the slide is open, if possible.
Thanks!

We did it on the drivers side for the reason you are dealing with .
Why can't you do the driver side ?

We already did that side, now we'd like to do the other.

Ok I get it .
There may not be a real easy answer .
A couple of carpet covered panels the same height as the slide floor
would work .

Put those down when you set up camp , this way you can pull the recliners
out from the wall .
You could stow the panels behind the recliners .

Hi.

I just did that. I saw another who make an extender. A 1/2 moon cut out of plywood wrapped in carpet pad and matching carpet. The height needs to match the slide floor height. This extends out the slide and the recliner sits part on the slide and part on the extender. I didnít bolt it in. It just sits free and I adjust it when we arrive. If your going to move the recliner after you arrive anyways, you might be able to sit the recliner sideways on the slide out floor. Mine fit that way as well.

Good luck

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I'm not familiar with your rig so can't advise you on that.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Thanks everyone. We also thought of the platform idea, so it's nice to get confirmation that this will work.

Mark, what did you do about the bolts that are exposed once the couch is out?

Mine had the bolts from the top and screwed into the floor. I just removed them and filled in the hole with similar carpet.

How did you get the couch out? We've considered doing this as well, but don't want to remove the windshield to do it.

I took the couch out of mine by removing one of the arms. Not a difficult task at all, just a couple of bolts on the back side. Went out the front door easy peezy. 72" Flexsteel.

I did it in our '02 Dutch Star. Couch had to be disassembled to go out the door. The floor of the slide was very close to level with the main floor so no problem there.
Present rig would be a problem for the same reason the OP has.

When we removed our couch it came all apart ( disassembled )
Came out the door in parts , the biggest being the steel bed frame .
I tied it together in the closed position so it wouldn't fly open
while exiting .

Took it to the Goodwill , they took the couch but wouldn't take
the mattress .
So if you plan to take it to Goodwill have the mattress folded inside
the couch then they probably won't notice the mattress .
Maybe tie it closed from underneath .

I felt like someone would like to have an RV couch but with a mattress .
