Replacing fabric insert in Fascia

Has anyone ever tried replacing or recovering the fabric inserts in their RV fascia? I have a 2000 Monaco LaPalma. I am also wanting to remove the valances over the windows and recover them as well.

Burke,
Check with Bill Willard. He did his coach and it turned out very nice.

I`ve removed valances on 3 coaches & they were installed the same -- There will be screws, usually 1to 3, going into the overhead cabinets, & tabs on each side - The blinds are attached to the valance, & will come down with it -- The valance legs are usually just screwed on --
I haven`t recovered the fascia , but they are probably installed using a metal plate with teeth that are attached to the back side of the board that the fascia is made of -- I have done chairs, & the backs were attached using these plates -- After covering, reinstall by just hammering on the front of the fascia with a clean hammer head -- The teeth are not very long & easy to reinstall if you can get then back into the orginal spot-- Just get a putty knife or screwdriver & pry them off -- Bill Willard

We removed the fabric inserts from the slide trim in our 5th wheel and replaced it with oak trim. Our Dynasty had the same thing done and all the window box valances were removed and replaced with an oak upper valances. They were built out just enough so that drape rods were inserted in front of the blinds We have lovely insulated drapes installed. Love the look
