Replacing material that holds the instruments
I am trying to figure out how or what to replace all the trim material all around the instruments in the cockpit area. A lot of mind is failing and cracking and screw holes pulling through. If anybody has replaced any of it, was a hard job.
Thanks

I removed my dash panels and had the "Hydro-Dipped" to give it a wood look. The original panels had a fake aluminum look and I wanted it to match the wood inlay in the cabinets.

It's easy enough to remove the panels. Once they are out you could copy the pattern to a new piece of 1/4" luan or plastic or aluminum (the factory panels are plastic) then have them hydro-dipped to whatever look you want.
One thing I would do different is that the factory attachment screws are glued to the back of the dash panel, and some had broken off. I reglued them but now I see one or two has come off again. So I recommend drilling through the dash and using a normal screw with a head (if your setup is like mine).

RE Ribbon Printer - on my coach all the wires are white with circuit-name/wire-number printed on the wire insulation.
In some cases it was easier to add an identifying "label" to the wire. The Ribbon Printer (i.e. "Brother" Label Maker) allows you to print out a label to wrap around the wire to help know where it goes when it's time to reassemble.

Mine is doing the same. When I get to that project I will be replacing with aluminum. Most precision sheetmetal shops can duplicate your dash in aluminam. They have punches in the corr
ect sizes for the switches and gages. The biggest problem will be finding a shop to do just one.

Also getting the 10 lb backup camera display out and replacing with a flat panel has helped the screws remain intact. It's not that bad of a job.
