Samsung has stated that their RF197 fridge is OK to run on a MSW inverter.

Not all fridge manufacturers will state that. Not all fridges will run OK on a MSW inverter.

All fridges will run OK on a PSW inverter.

Also, most manufacturers void the warranty if installed in an RV even with a SW inverter. Samsung doesn't.
I helped a member her change out his old refer to a 197 a few moths ago. Changed the wiring over to run off the inverter too.

We have a 2000 Holiday Rambler. Our dry camping usually consists of overnight boondocking while traveling, and about 30 days. Obviously, installation we could be extra, 2 batteries and an inverter would also b extra.
In our case, the Amish solution was the best. Our freezer is very cold., passes the hard ice cream test easily, and the refer easily maintains 32.

The convenience of the flexibility of operation was the right choice for us.

Some people are better served with the residential solution. The choice is a convenience/preference one. No one choice is right for everyone.

I switched to the Amish cooling unit this year and I love it. It works much better than the original....
