My fresh water hose is over 10yrs old and has had “bubbles” in several area over the past few months, possibly due to age, pressure and exposure to the sun. I have removed the “bubbles” thus shorting the hose. It is currently 34’ in length.

I want to replace the hose on the retraction reel but would like suggestions on how to access the reel and hose connection behind the water bay panel.

Right now I have a 3” x 7” opening that the hose is threaded through to retract onto the reel. How does the hose attach? Does it screw on or is it attached with a pressure connection? And, can I access the hose without removing the panel? I’d prefer to do it myself instead of paying $130 an hour at the rv center.

Just pull it out as far as you can, cut it and splice a new one on. A new hose from Glendinning is about $150, not sure about the other brand commonly used.

I got one on ebay last year. Soak it in vinegar/water solution for a day or more to kill the "hose" taste.

I installed a Camco premium drinking water hose, 5/8" x 35'. The hose reel uses a clam shell clamp with 2 screws to clamp the hose onto a tapered hose barb. I had to cut off one end of the new hose and clamp it to the barb. When the hose is sitting exposed to the sun for an extended period, I encase it in pipe insulation to preserve it and prevent the strong plastic taste.

I went through several houses, trying to get one without the hosey taste.

We are t with this finaly. Can be custom made in 5 foot increments with SS fittings.

I have changed mine 2x in the last 12 yrs. I cut out the current hole to about 6 x 9 and then screwed a piece of thin plastic to repair the hole. on my 06 knight the hose is 1/2". the reel will hold about 40 feet properly andany more will bind up before fully retracted. mine is held on with a hose clamp. put on the new hose (shortened to about 40') clamp it, test it for leaks and replace the cover you made.
