Before I try tearing apart the shower, I thought I would see if anyone out there has ever replaced the shower valve assembly.

There is no access to the rear of the shower in my 03 40' Dip PWD. I need to replace the shower valve assembly because it is leaking behind the assembly. The water rips in the wet bay off the lines leading to the shower.

Has anyone tackled this job?

I, of course don't know your floor plan, but on our 03 HR Ambassador I had the same problem. Our front driver's side slide has the galley at the far end of the slide with a upper and lower pantry. In the back of the upper pantry is the access panel for the shower when the slide is out. It turned out that the plastic fittings on the back of the shower were loose and leaking. I just tightened them up and have had no problems since.

Good luck,
Al

I too have an access panel in the cabinet behind the shower in my 07 Beaver Contessa. So I'm no help to you.

In our 07 Dip there is no immediate access. We asked a couple of the Monaco Tech's, how we could replace the shower fauset, when we visited the factory in Oregon, and here is their answer:

"Emmmm - we don't know. Maybe if the kitchen was removed....".

For that reason we still still have the original fauset installed.

Just changed out the shower "control" on our 2011 Navastar Monaco Cayman with an American Standard unit. Panel was located in the master suite. When you change out the "old" unit you will see why it works the way it "works. No more need to be said.

Hello - I have an 02 Windsor PKD and the 'back' of the shower is against the galley side. To get to the shower valve, I had to remove the first two mirrors that behind the stove top. They were held on with silicone.

I think in all cases there is an access hole to get to the shower valve. The problem is Monaco hides it in a cabinet or behind mirrors or other wall coverings. In my 06 it was behind a Corian panel that was held to the wall using double sided tape. We had to use a long thin pick of metal to break all the tape lose. The panel is now attached with heavy duty Velcro.

Thanks for the replies.

My Dip has the galley in the drivers side slide. There is a buffet behind the shower. I looked behind the drawers and the upper cabinet but no access there. I guess it could be behind the mirror panel. Will have to see if DW will allow me to try and remove the mirror.

Richard. I thank that if it has a removal panal, it will be right behind the shower control. Do a little measuring and you should find it. Like others have said it maybe be covered up. In my 06 Dip, it is on the bedroom wall, when we got the coach it was just a panal held on with 4 screws. We covered ours with a then photo frame attached with mirror mastic.

If you do find something that you think covers the whole you can use good fishing line to assist in cutting the mastic or silacon to remove it. Just take your time and it is easy. Hope this helps you out.
