Have a 06 endeavor paq, the bottom bed slide seal, that is attached to the bottom of the slide opening is torn. The seal has what I want to call heavy duty staple like things in it that just clip on to the lip of the frame work at the bottom of the slide opening. I see no glue at all but a single screw on each side. Looks like the seal could be replaced with out taking the slide out rather opening the slide about half way will allow access with the exception of the screw on each end, that will be a bugger. Anyone ever replace one of these?
Thanks as always,
Ed

I ordered the seal from Holiday Rambler and wouldn't you know it they sent me the wrong seal.

As information for you all I by passed HR and ordered the correct seal direct from the company HR dropped shipped from. The company name is Uni-Grip, Upper Sandusky, OH. They have a great web site with profiles of the seals that makes it very easy to order what you may need. As long as I had to reorder this seal I also took a chance and ordered some rubber strips for the outside of the slides for the weather seals to catch on as the slides are extended so the seals will flip out like they should. (this was address in the quidk tips and easy mods)

Hope to install next weekend.

Ed

ED S It is very easy to replace the seal just watch what you are doing.Take a 2x6x24 Place flat under the slid half way then a 2x4 apx 36" long HYD jack and jack up slide apx 1-2 in makeing sure the lumber is sound & strait. If you had some thing you could put up right for safety would be much better

Thanks popeye, I am thinking I can replace the seal with out jacking up the slide just by extending the slide out about 6-8 inches. Only problem is getting at the one screw that is between the side of the slide and slide opening frame. It as a sq bit head on it with no room to get the bit and ratchet in. I will get it out but will replace it with some sort of a hex screw so an allen wench will work. I may be wrong but will try and if not I will use your advise. Thank you very much.

Ed,

Great find on Uni-Grip. This will save us all some serious money in the future.

GREAT find Ed S. Will they sell to individuals or do they want you to go through one of their reps or dealers? Our bedroom slide seal is getting a little long in the tooth.

I got good news from the dealer usadventurerv
in davenport, Ia, The tech called monaco and told them the full length slide seals are shot
and they are sending the seals to them. Also on
my kvh r5 dish there having several coming in with the dish not downlosding the birds. They reload the dish using a laptop (flash using wizard) Then they sometimes install a deadacated 120/12v and if the dish
mother board is bad kvh has been replacing the
r5, so good news all around. My manufactors
warrenty runs out the 25 of this month so I'm in under the wire, bought extended warr. four seven yrs.
If anybody has a need for service in the midwest check them out.

Uni-Grip will sell direct to you but be away they are a little slow in processing and shipping your order. Seems to take about 1 week after placing the order by phone before they ship.

Replacing the seal on my bed slide (PAQ) was some real work to apply the seal on the "S" curve without removing the slide. Did get ur done though.

I have not had time to apply the strip of rubber I ordered to apply to the side of the slide to push the weather seal in and out as the slide moves in and out. Hope to get to it in the next couple of days and can post if it works or not and what I ordered.

Ed

As a follow up, I have applied the strip of rubber to one slide as a test and it works very well to flip the slide seal out when you extend the slide. I would have included the Uni-Grip part number here if I wasn't at work right now. If you are interested in that infor let me know.

Yes, ED, I for one would be interested in exactly what you ordered from Uni-Grip as a "seal flipper" strip. I have seen several new Monaco coaches which had a strip of what looked like the "sandpaper-like" black safety grip material you often see on stair treads. I bought a length of this at Lowe's and was planning on installing it (it is adhesive backed). I will wait for your information, though, on what is available from Uni-Grip, as the stair tread material looks as if it would be somewhat abrasive to the seals.

Bill

According to my packing slip they sent me SD-348-T

I went to their web site again but do not see this part number although I see a SD-358_SD that looks like what I have. My motorhome is in the paint shop for the next two weeks so I am unable to take a picture for you. I have the banance of the seal in the motorhome but I could stop over there and cut a sample off for you and mail it or maybe Uni_Grip would send you a sample also. Just let me know. By the way I applied a strip down the entire slide.
Ed
