Replacing Table Chair Dinette with Booth

Has anyone here modified their coach by taking out a table/chairs type dinette and replaced it with a booth?

I fell in love with one or two floor plans in the Diplomat, but they both have table and chairs. MHSRV has huge discounts, but if I custom order a new one, the discounts disappear.

Thanks.
Ken

Ken, we did. I removed the buffet, made the table not slide, and installed two booth halves on either side of the table.

For me it was a bit of a challenge as the Aqua hot system discharged in two locations where the chairs previously sat. The booth facing forward is equipped with Seat belts bolted through the floor to the frame. The rear facing has no seat belts. One mistake I made, the booths sit higher than the chairs did, so the table feels low. When I custom ordered the booths I should have looked closer at this.

If you look closely at the photo, I took some of the excess wood and built a box for one Aqua Hot register to remain on the floor between the booths.

Very nice! And just what I was 'sweet-talked ( ) ' to into trying to accomplish for us.

Can you provide any additional info, like: custom? off-the-shelf? plans? etc. My experience with wood-working extends mostly to electricity and wrenches (so I'm at a disadvantage here)

Many thanks!

Our last RV had a booth and I much prefer the dinette we have now. The booth is OK for two people (and I mean OK, not great) but having a dinette is more comfortable.

Ken, I bought them from shop4seats.com. You can pick the material for the covering and if you need custom specs they can handle that also. We bought the dual recliners the following year that match the Dinette, also a nice product, very comfortable. They take a long time to get so if its going to be a spring project you might want to order them now.
we needed the dinette booth for our kids so they can sit and do stuff while on the road, the booth facing forward has seat belts bolted through the floor to the frame as well as the new dual recliners.

That's pretty much the same set-up, I'm fixin' to order. Looks good.

Agreed. But I suppose, to each their own. Everyone has different tastes and styles.
