For over a year now we have been thinking about trying the Roadmaster sway bars for the RR8R chassis but could not find anyone who had tried them. Finally, Monaco Mama and SacsTc had the ride enhancement kit installed on their Diplomat which included the sway bars from Roadmaster. The problem was the air bags and shocks were changed as part of the kit making it difficult to tell how much the sway bars alone helped. We decided to bite the bullet and have the sway bars installed. We could immediately tell the difference on the 20 mile trip home after the installation but did not want to jump to conclusions until we tried them on a road trip. We left home Saturday morning for the FMCA rally here in Perry and was ecstatic for the entire drive down. The sway bars are expensive but I would gladly spend the money again.

We already have 8 Koni shocks and they made a huge difference and the TruCenter also improved the driving experience. Now after installing the sway bars it is almost like driving a car. Before the sway bars windy conditions called for a lot of steering activity and I could feel the eighteen wheelers as they approached from the rear without even looking in the mirror. Now if I am not looking in the mirror I am surprised to look over and there is a huge truck passing us. Now here is the kicker that I can't explain, the coach seems to take the bumps with less jarring. I can't wait to get back on the road. If it weren't for my bladder maintenance I could drive this thing all day.

The RR8R does not have any sway bars as it comes from Monaco and that is a big mistake. Sway bars should be standard on the RR8R or at least offered as an option. The air bag system cannot respond fast enough to eliminate bump steer from cross winds and passing trucks.

Jim,

The sway bars are made by Roadmaster and included in the Source ride enhancement kit. I purchased only the sway bars directly from Roadmaster. The price is about $950 each plus shipping and installation.

George,

We are in L1, 4th street. Our Diplomat is brown and has the black sunscreens on the windshield and side window. There is a Direct TV dish on top and we are the second coach in from the road that runs between L1 and L4. I'll PM you my cell phone number.

Jim,

I talked to Wayne before ordering the sway bars to make sure we got the correct ones. I'll have to go by the Roadmaster booth and meet him. The exhibits were not open today but they open in the morning.

Are these the sway bars that IPD used to manufacture.......I believe they sold their company to Roadmaster? I wonder if my 2011 Monaco Cayman has sway bars. I had the IPD bars front and back on my Rockwood. NO sway going on on-ramps to the freeways at a fairly fast speed. Took the corners like a 40' race car. deSanford

Bob - We are glad you are as happy with the Sway bars as we are. Also...please say "Hello" to Wayne for SacsTC (Ron) and I. We were supposed to meet up with him in QZ but we could not make it due to the MIL situation. Please tell him that I will fix him the "Signature Salmon Dinner" when we do meet up with him though!
SacsTC really likes Wayne and I am sure you will see why when you meet him too!

Ohhh-Sacs said to let him know he can toss out the "old parts" he put up on a shelf for us ...THEY ARE NOT going back onto our coach!!

MM,

Will do. Guess I had better take notes to remember all that.

George,

I'll walk down your street when I get a chance and look for your coach. We enjoyed the entertainment last night and managed to stay dry. Hope the rain is done for the rest of the rally. I will be heading out to the vendor stuff shortly.

MM,

Message delivered. Yes, Wayne seems like a very nice fellow.
