Ride Height for Monaco Jack

We have a 2003 Monaco Jack. It's 38 ft with a tag. We bought it used from a guy who was obsessed with tires and overfilled them. He used a compressor that had water in it and the tires had water in them. We learned this when we had a rough ride and pulled the tires to balance them.
We now have all new Michelin X Coach tires. The tires are balanced and we have a very smooth ride on smooth roads.
However, when we hit the bump at the start of a bridge or even cracks in the concrete Interstates, or just a small patch on a road, the coach is really rough.
Our coach rides very high in the front and we are wondering if this is part of the problem. Does anyone know the proper ride height for a smooth ride in the 38 ft with a tag? Also what about the best tag pressure?

We're wondering if the 38 is really too short to have a tag and all we are really getting is another set of tires hitting every bump. We love the coach and love the ride on smooth roads, but we really think there has to be something we can do to get it to take less than perfect roads better.

Any help from someone who owns a 38 ft Dynasty with a tag would be appreciated.

If your coach came with the manuals, the ride height is listed in them. Mine is listed in the spiral bound manual. If your ride height is off, it can cause your coach to ride rough. What you're describing is something a lot of us have had issues with....shocks.

I changed mine to the Koni FSD's and got rid of that jarring ride out of the front end. They're procey!

LadyVol,

I agree with Don. You need to get the ride height adjusted and put the Koni FSD shocks on. With a tag axle you will need 10 shocks so be prepared for sticker shock on the cost of the shocks.

I do not have a TAG, however I have looked at the Bag height for one of my buddies. The more you increase the TAG load, the more you shift the weight to the Front Axel, Not off of the Rear Axel. If you are high in the front you may be carrying too little load on the TAG. Have you had your 4 (6) corners weighed? I would start there if I were you. Tire pressure will also have an effect on ride quality.
