Greetings:

My 13 month old 2008 Monaco Monarch roof is flopping in the wind. I looked out the upstars window at my house and noticed in blowing around in the wind. It is only about 6 inches above the drives side. It looks like the tape has separated a little. That said my unit is at the dealer and they say your warranty just ended and it is 4 hours and 550.00 to repair. Also my 3000.00 extended warranty does not cover that either. Just too bad. I am wonering if this is something a person should have a dealer fix or go buy a can of 20.00 white rubber foof paint and stick it back down.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Don

I think I would take a close look at it and see if Eternabond would seal it back up along the edges.

Don, I've got a 2008 Monarch as well. This fall I washed the roof and found the liquid sealant on the joint between the front cap and roof was opening up a little bit. I applied a piece of Eternabond tape over the degraded area, all set! It looked to me that Monaco had sealed the joint with Eternabond tape and then covered it with a liquid of some sort. The Eternabond website has video where they show how to apply. I keep a roll in the coach, just in case. The coach has a foot of snow it right now!

Were it me I would be talking with a lawyer. RV warranties are notoriously bad but this come under the heading of stupid and if the extended does not cover it what does?

I had a problem with my roof and it sound similar to yours.

Check out this link.

It took some work but it is possible to save the money and do it yourself.
