Rubber Cover for Height Control Valve

There is a rubber cover to the air height control valve that lets air out when needed and retracts with a felt washer inside to close off the valve to protect it from contamination. Both fore and aft of mine have gotten old and fallen off. I called Monaco parts and they said there is not a replacement for this and I would have to buy whole new valves for $88 apiece. Eighty-eight dollars for a little rubber cover.

Has anyone else found a replacement for these covers? I don't want to have to pay this steep price for complete valves when all I need is the rubber piece.

How about a piece of latex rubber used in physical therapy? I was rehabbing a broken leg and they gave me lengths of latex to exercise at home, including one piece 8" x 8 feet, very thick. I'd wrap it around the joint and use zip ties top and bottom to make a boot for the valve.

Part #: KN27000
OEM #: N20404BE Note: Exhaust Cover Repair Kit use part number RN10JE

NAPApart number MBI RN10JE. My cost $4.93/$8.78 list, so it depends on how good your NAPA discount is. That KN valve goes for about $40 everywhere but Monaco, just a FYI.

PS...Be careful under there. And while you are at it check the rod end rubbers, when they go you lose leveling. They are available, about $4 each. I carry a couple in the tool box.

Go Gators!!!...will be in JAX next week for sure!!

Thanks, TWOMED

Do you happen to know if the rod end rubbers are available also and what the part number would be for them?

Hope you enjoy Jacksonville. Let us know if we can be of assistance to you while you are here.

MBI RN10JC is the most common one used T shaped. If that's what is on yours they are $4.19 cost/$7.20 list.

AAA gold member will get you close or at list.

GREAT Gator day here in Gville!!! Ft Clinch tomorrow for the week

Thanks again, TWOMED. I will check to see if these are the type I need and go ahead and replace them along with the exhaust covers. Like you I will be sure to carry extras of both.

I guess I owe you, should we happen to meet.

Have a great time at Ft. Clinch. It is a wonderful place to stay.

I may need to replace one of my air control valves on my 2005 Neptune, but it doesn't look like the one in this thread. Anyone know where to get this one besides $$$$Monaco? I've attached a crude drawing form the manual...

[I know there's a way to put the graphic in the message body, but I haven't figured it out yet.]

TIA

Don

Well I bought the parts with a spare, of course. I crawled under the coach today to install them. I pushed, tugged, tried to start it on one side and then tried to start it on the other side and work it around. NO GO. I thought that I was not going to be able to get it installed. Finally I turned the bugger inside out and rolled it on. Piece of cake. Thanks, Twomed for pointing me in the right direction to get the parts. Now I hope my hint to turn the buggers inside out to roll them into place will help someone else to install theirs easily.

I find it often helps to put a drop or two of liquid dish detergent on them as a lubricant.
