Ok, what often happens is folks put in a 30 amp outlet not a 50 but a 30, and they have it installed by a pro.. Well the pro looks at it and does not bother to read either the work order or the lettering on the outlet and hooks it up for 240 volts (2 hots and either a neutral or a ground) which is very simply WRONG.
If you put in a 30 amp. You have one hot, an neutral and a ground, other than heavier wire,, It is the same as a standard wall outlet.
If you put in a a 50 amp outlet you have a few additional options, but the PROPER way to do it is still heavier wire, 4 of them (L-1 (HOT) l-2 (HOT) neutral and ground) and of course a dual ganged breaker.
This is the proper way to do it.
Many diagrams about the forum on the proper hook up but ...
The two sides are HOT, does not matter which side is L-1 and which is L-2
The ROUND (U or D shaped depending on how you look at it) hole is GROUND
That leave neutral which is at the top.
IF money is an object you can skimp on the wire and use 30 amp breakers,, This will be enough for MOST use.. But it will require careful management if you spend time LIVING in the MH. (I do it about 1 week a year that way.. Hardly ever have to hike to the distribution panel and reset).
