1996 Dynasty. Now and then when we stop for a few minutes and restart, the engine starts but will not excilerate! In gear still no power although the thing is running. Stoping the engine and restarting a few time will fix the problem. What is wrong? allegro5

You might want to include a little more information about your rig such as engine size, etc. and you may get more responses.
What have you checked so far?

In My case of the 1996 Dynasty with a Cummins 8.3! This rig has no Computer! I havent checked a thing as I have no idea where to start. The engine runs at temps that show fine and it runs smoothly. Just sometimes when I start the engine it will not respond to the accelerator. shortly it snaps out of it and does fine. Thanks for responding RJay, Allegro5

Your rig may not have a computer but its got an electric connection from the accelerator to the engine with relays, etc.
I would suggest two things.
If its on a Freightliner chassis I would ask a mod to move your post to the Freightliner group. This is a chassis issue not the box builders issue.
And, if its on a Freightliner chassis I would call Freightliner help at 1-800-FTL-HELP. Have the last 6 of your VIN number available. They can help you get started with a diagnosis.

Frieghtliner?
This is a Monaco Dynasty, they only come with monaco's roadmaster chassis, he's in the right place, or certainly close enough.
No idea on your problem though, sorry.

Had the same problem with mine. Changed both fuel filters "again" no change. So I finally changed the overflow valve on the injection unit. All the power was back and instant re-action to the accelerator. This has been discussed on this forum before, I'll PM you the linkto the supplier.

Hi Phill R and friends! I changed the overflo valve a year ago. Got it on Ebay for $25.. Seems a small shop makes them and they are all Brass and purdy! Not so sure how good or how long they last. allegro5

I had a similar problem with my Cummins C 8.3 occasionally. I found the Pac Brake sticking once in a while. Turning off the ignition would clear the problem until it happened again. Lubing the Pac Brake and working it by hand until it worked freely resolved my problem. I hope this helps.

Here's one thing you can check. You'll have to lift the bed up to look at things under there.
There's an electric box fastened on the front firewall with a cable coming out of it running down to the engine. It connects to a swivel lever, and that swivel lever connects to the fuel injection pump. The swivel lever has a couple of return springs on it.
It's common for that swivel lever to become so rusted that the electric control box can't move it. Spraying a little oil on it and working it free usually solves the problem.

I'm curious, did you find the problem? Let us know when you do.
