We went camping this weekend. Yesterday started out good and I was doing my usual morning thing of spending time on the computer. Finally quit puttng it off and got an order off to RV Upgrades for a 10 tire Tire Pressure Monitoring System for our up comping trip to the Denver area. Did the usually things in getting ready to break camp but left the 50 Amp shore power plugged to keep the dogs cool. The wife went down the street to say goodbye to some friends and I thought I would pull out of the site and hook up the Honda. You guessed it, I forgot to unplug the shore power. Broke off the water faucet at the camp site when the cord caught it and tore up my power reel for the shore power cable. I was back on the RV Upgrade web site last night ordering a new TDI 50 Amp shore power motorized take up reel. That set me back another $620.

Yours truely,

Dumb

Been there, done that! I pulled a 50 amp power box out of concrete at the Newmar Service Center. Nice picture dragging my cord and their pole down the road with new friends I had met there waving goodbye as I left, or so I thought!

Bummer!!! Been there and done that and a long list of other nightmare-evoking, incidents. Thus far, no human injuries. Have one acquaintance who claims he has never had an "oops" moment in his 20+ years of RVing. <shrug>

That way funny Jim. Waving and grinning at my new friends sounds like something I would do. Can relate to that. Have not drug off the pedestal yet but did try to leave with the toad once.

Was stuck in the mud one time. Tried to gain traction by placing boards under the tires. Still no success. Had to hire a tow. However when the tow pulled the rig the planks rotated up and ripped out all of the LP lines. A very expensive mistake getting stuck!!!!
