Good morning,
This winter will be the first time our motorhome will be staying home in the cold. I would greatly appreciate some advice on how to winterize properly. Also, is it better to buy a cover or not to cover?
Does the roof need special support? And the BIG windshield?
Thanks
Mario Ross

What model is yours?

1. The owner manual has a detailed winterization plan, follow it and this will keep the lines from freezing. Make sure to remove the whole house filter, place water heat valve in bypass, remove the screen filter on the water pump and open the drains. or if you use the pink stuff pump it through the system.

2. ice maker line drain

3. washing machine and hook up lines

4. Service the chassis and engine

5. wash and wax

6. pump tires to the recommended max

7 disconnect the batt negitive term on both house and chassis batt.

8. Yes we cover ours with a custom cover and place 12inch by14 inch support styrofoam boxes (5)on roof so the cover has a pitch to it. ( Note this has not been snow tested) but the coach is like new and ready to go for the next trip.

I have an 09 Safari Cheetah, not much different than your Simba. The owners manual has a step by step list for winterization. I use aa ADCO Tyvek cover to keep the snow and other stuff off the coach when not in use in the winter time.

As mentioned above don't forget to drain the ice maker, water filters and washer/dryer.

I don't use the pink stuff anymore. I blow the lines out with air. No need to flush the lines when we take a mid winter trip.
