Anyone else having trouble with their Scepter front slides? I have a 2007 quad slide scepter. Three hours after bringing home the coach from the dealer, the front slide wouldn't retract. Got the slide back in and Monaco had the motor replaced at a local service facility. At the end of the first long trip, the same slide wouldn't retract at the rear. Needed road service to get the slide in, it had sheared the axle to the rear drive gear. $700 in fuel for a trip to Monaco Oregon. They replaced the gear, checked the slide and said all was well. They also gave me an extra connecting bolt for the drive line to gear connection. Next trip out the slide was acting and sounding "funny". Contacted Monaco and they authorized a trip to the dealer, since the factory warranty had expired the previous week. He cleaned and lubed the slide and said all was "A OK". Next trip the connecting bolt sheared and the rear of the slide wouldn't move. Used the extra bolt Monaco had so kindly provided and got the slide back in. Returned to the dealer and they again service and adjusted the slide. They said Monaco had used the wrong length bolt, so they replaced it and gave me an extra "just in case". Took another trip, and the bolt again sheared and slide wouldn't retract. Used the extra "just in case bolt" the dealer threw in to get the slide moving again, but now I see the holes in the drive line are beginning to elongate from the stress of shearing the bolts. Have another appointment at the dealer. Monaco and the dealer have been super, but this is getting a little old, although I'm getting pretty good at replacing the bolt. I'm afraid now that the drive rod itself is getting ready to shear and really strand me.

Just wondered if anyone else is having this kind of trouble with their Scepter slide. In addition to the shearing problem, I've had two electrical failures on the slides which caused Monaco to replace the control board when the sheared axle was replaced.

Do you have the power gear elctric slides? The problems you describe are common with the power gear. They have a fix and Monaco should know about it.
