Ah-ha! I'd wondered why the top and bottom parts of the door were made differently.
Way to go, Flyer!

One of my earlier projects was to build a storm-door to let in more light/visibility, so I'd cut and installed two pieces of Plexiglas to fit in the screen-door recesses. I noticed the upper part seemed to be removable (it had those little twistable tabs). Thinking that maybe a storm-door already existed for it, I called Monaco but they said nope. Curiously enough, the person didn't mention that it was to allow the upper part to come off on purpose. I now see from your pic that it was made to stow in the lower half since it's much wider.

I'm really picky about road-noises, etc, does it rattle or bang around in that slot?

No rattles and really improves the passengers view. A trick to removing and reinstalling the top part is to leave the top twist tab alone and just slide the screen under it.
PS Engine is still running.
