We have a 2007 Monaco Knight. This evening my wife ask me if the screen in the top of the screendoor could be replaced with a glass insert. If asked during the week, I would call Monaco. Anyone know if a glass insert is available from Monaco? Could make one with plexaglass, but would perfer glass.

Logthumper...
I don't think tha Monaco would have piece of glass available as it would be considered a hazard.
My thoughts.... You CAN remove that piece of screen while traveling (at least on our models) and attach the screens to the bottom part of the screen door.(Many people do not know this) This gives the passenger a clear view while traveling on the road. When you get to where you are going - put the screen top back up to keep the bugs out while letting as much air in while "camping".

If this is not part of the reason - I would still consider putting plexi-glass in instead of glass - safety for all involved is the main reason - PLUS it costs nothing -so it is cheaper!

Folks - let me know if I need to show some of you how I remove the top screen - and lock it into place in the bottom section -

Logthumper,
Yup, that's how we do it. There are 5 plastic swiveling clips that you move side to side that hold the screen in. There is an indentation on the bottom of the screen door that also has 4 of those clips just ready and waiting to hold your upper screen into place. It deffinately improves the passenger's and driver's view out the door window while driving.

You can also take out the driver's window screen to give the driver a better view of the scenery. There are 2 spring clips on the top of the screen. They hold the screen in the window's screen groove. You just lift up the screen and pull the bottom out. Put the screen anywhere you please while driving. It makes for a cleaner view.

Unfortunately my wife always wants me to keep my eyes on the road.

Happy travels,

AKBrick
