The co-pilot's Flexsteel chair has two retractors. One for the lap belt and one for the shoulder belt. The one for the lap belt keeps racheting tighter given any slack. This annoys DW to no end.

I tried Mega RV's web site and the "Monacoers" parts list but could find no replacement retractors. Flexsteel's web site is all about selling new furniture. Maybe I overlooked something in the above searches.

Any ideas about repairing or replacing the lap belt retractor on the co-pilot's chair?

Thanks,

You've probly already tried this but sometimes seatbelts need to be reset. Try extending the belt out as far as it will go then let it retrack back. Do this a couple of times. Take it all the way out without stopping , then all the way back in without stopping. Not much to these seatbelts. Had a simliar problem with one of ours and that gave as a fix.

Dave, you could update to a three point style.

Thanks for the responses. I had not tried the "reset" maneuver. I tried it yesterday afternoon and it had no effect. I may take it off the chair and try it again with the plastic stand-off removed so the chrome tab can be wound all the way back on to the retractor.

The three point belt is what is on the driver's seat and it works great. I may consider that if the co-pilot's seat belt gets to be too much of a problem. Thanks for the tip.

Dave
