Security entry pad

I just purchased a 2006 Dynasty 42 that has an outside unlock security pad. I found the reset button in the armrest to try and reset the entry code. (previous owner did not use) when I press the reset, I get the 4 beeps but using the master reset code produces no results. The keypad lights up with the reset button and times out with two beeps a few minutes later but it still doesn't work. Is the unit broken, or am I doing something wrong.

When you press each number on the key pad do you get a beep. Those key pads have a horrible history of failing. If the pad for one of those number of the master reset code does not work then you are out of luck and the unit will time out and give you a double beep. Touch each number of the key pad and see if each gives you a beep. Sometimes you really got to punch it hard to make a number work. My bet is that either number one or number nine is dead or hard to hit.

I believe that year used an Essex System
