Seeking Info on the new "REV Group" Diplomat

I'm thinking about trading my 2007 Diplomat for a new 2017 Diplomat 43G made by REV Group. Actually it looks to be the very same coach as the new HR Scepter and the Fleetwood American Coach Revolution. I've been searching the Monaco forum here and so far I've only found this thread, which does have some good information in it. Guess there are not a lot of REV Monaco owners on the forum yet. (I think 2017 is the third model year for them - is that correct?) Is anyone else here thinking about buying one of these new Dips?

If anyone on the forum has some experience with the new REV made Diplomats, I sure would like to hear from you about what you think about your coach in general - and perhaps specific problems you've had and things to look out for. Also, if you've moved up from an earlier Monaco coach, what is better and what is worse?

Thanks much!!

We looked at them, and like on the other thread, different chassis, dash looks like plastic, same floor plan as our 43dft, requires DEF

Thanks. I noticed that about the dash. Guess if I buy one of these, I'm going to have to read up on the easiest way to deal with DEF. Never paid any attention to it before.

Robin,

You should schedule a trip to Tampa in mid January & go to the rally at the Super Show. Can get some time with the Dip and get a feel for the REV people. Also many other coaches to compare. I remember being very favorably impressed with the quality of the Dip at the last Super Show. Staying at the venue is very pleasant and you can go back to the coach for a mid day nap. Need at least 2 days at the show anyway.

Thanks Craig.

It looks like I'm going to purchase this 2017 Dip. There aren't many comments on the forum yet (that I can find) on the new REV Diplomats, but your comments and others on the other thread I linked to above helped to make up my mind. ...that and the fact that I spent an entire day going over all the details of the coach inside and out. I'll be test driving it tomorrow morning.

I've been keeping a "short list" of everything I wanted in my next coach, and this coach just about has my whole list covered, and then some. I'm looking at the 43G floor plan. My list of "must haves" included...
  1. a BIG wide driver's seat with lots of leg room,
  2. a king size bed with storage underneath,
  3. plenty of storage space in BR and living area,
  4. a full rear bath with a half bath up front,
  5. a bench dinette that I could fit in,
  6. easy access to wiring behind the dash (I like to play),
  7. a good entertainment system, and
  8. an all electric coach.

The new Dip 43G has ALL that, PLUS a tag axle with passive steering, a heated fireplace (that actually works well), heated floors, 3 quiet ducted roof AC units, a dishwasher, all LED lighting inside & out, exterior under-coach accent lights, well laid out house control panels, and even an emergency rear exit door (behind the toilet), and more

Craig, I also very much appreciate your inviting me to email you with questions. If I do buy the coach, I'm sure I will have have a question or two to ask.

I'll be watching for your impressions, Robin. REV has the exact same floorplans ("S" in particular I'm eyeing)/all on the same chassis/engine in a Diplomat, Scepter & Revolution, yet the Revolution is base priced almost 50K higher than the others. Wondering what makes the the Monaco & HR so much less expensive.

The "S" floor plan is very nice too. It has that huge spa shower in the bath. and also lots of closet and drawer space in the bedroom/bath area. We would have been happy with either the "S" or the "G".

I think the reason REV is discounting the Monaco/HR line is that they paid a lot of money for those brand names and they want to keep them alive, after all the fiasco that the names have suffered. The Diplomat was Monaco's best selling coach, and had a huge following following over the years. On the 2017's all dealers seem to be listing them for at least $110,000 LESS than MSRP, and you can start dealing from there.

I fell in love with the shower in the S. The one in our Bounder is 53" wide & the ones in the S's are the only ones that've come close to that size in 10 years of searching....without going super high end like in a King Air or some other million dollar coach.

The only CON is there's no pantry in the S. Who'd build a coach like that w/o a pantry!?
