In preparation for installing cyclone vents on my vent pipes I finally ventured up on the roof of my 08 HR Endeavor 40PDQ today. I only found one vent pipe. Did HR tie both tanks together somewhere or am I missing something. I don't think I have ever owned a trailer or motorhome that did not have two vents.

bdpreece,
Our '03 Dip has one roof vent pipe.
I have considered the Cyclone (or simular) product, but have never had an issue with the system not performing as designed. Guess it can't hurt.
Best Regards

So does mine by the way..one roof vent on top...but everything works, so why question it..I can see the pipe go up behind the washer/dryer to the roof.

Sounds like that's the way they build them. I am a firm believer in using the cyclone vents as they have helped with odor problems in previous coaches. The cost is such that I will probably just go ahead and install one.

I have the same rig, but a year older. I also have a single vent pipe. If I look in the back left corner of the large upper cabinet across from the shower, I can see the pipe from the black tank going straight up and through the roof.
And if I look to the top of that cabinet, I can see a T just below the roof where the gray tank vent joins it. That tank vent runs down a small chase built into the corner of the adjacent throne room.
Personally, I think it's a good idea. The two vents are so near each other, why not tie them together? It's one less roof penetration, and one less potential leak.
_____
BTW, do you also have a small chase built into the corner between the outside wall and the floor? I find it very annoying, as it's right where I want to put my right foot while sitting on the throne. The other day, I had the compartment below it open to access the tanks. Turns out that chase is for the drain line coming from the vanity and going to the gray tank. But looking in that compartment, there is lots of room to fit that line below the floor. Why did they go to all the work putting that chase that just gets in the way? I don't get it.

I have two vents on my Cayman. I had bad smells in RV while driving. I installed the cyclone on the black tank and it still smelled. I then installed one and the gray tank vent. All better now. Very happy with the cyclone vent cover.

I like the idea that they are tied together as it cuts my cost in half for the cyclone vents. Also on my previous coach the two vents were close enough together that under certain conditions the two cyclone vents would spin and hit each other causing an annoying clicking noise when we were trying to sleep. Never did get around to moving one of them.
We have the same chase in the bathroom and I had noticed it made things a little tight but had not thought much about it.

Be sure that it you had a washer drier installed in your coach that it is cycled ( or manual fill p trap with water ) as the p trap can dry out and cause some interior odors..

We did not use our washer for the first couple of years we had the unit and I read that could cause odor problems. I had tried everything I could think of to eleminate the odor. Since we started using the washer the odor did disappear.
