My passenger windshield shade came off the motorized roller on my 06 Camelot. Figured I could just re-attach the shade material to the sticky band on the roller, hit the switch to roll it back up, and be done with it. I was wrong.
It only rolled up to within 8" of the top position. OK, so then I tried to manually wrap it onto the roller a few times to get rid of the 8" problem. No dice, the motor moves with the roller. Spent another hour trying various positions of the roller by trying to match the up down movement with the other shade to try to get rid of the 8"s.
I then gave up and called Monaco tech support. The first guy I spoke with didn't have a clue and referred me to the manufacturer (Carefree) who told me to go back to Monaco and order a new shade since they determined my shade was out of warranty and not repairable. Called back Monaco and got another tech. Explained the problem and he said that he has tried to rewind the shade material several times in the past and cannot do it. He recommended a call to the parts department. Part cost is $220 plus shipping. Will wait a few days and then order the part. I just want to tear that thing apart first to see if I can find magic and fix it.

If you cannot repair it and must replace it, I wonder if you absolutely must buy it through Monaco. Maybe the replacement arts are a stock size and lots of places sell Carefree blinds. Or you may be able to get just the parts you need to repair the shade you've got from Carefree themselves.

I think Carefree will sell shades and/or parts. When my door awning motor went south I asked if fabric, etc could be purchased from Carefree and they said yes.

The lady I spoke with specifically said no retail sales. Don't know if this is a policy change or if the person I spoke with was not knowledgeable. I will search the internet for an alternative once I take the shade apart. I will then know if I need a replacement or just parts. Thanks Robin and Mark for the replys.

Phrog Driver, If that shade is anything like other motor driven devices, I bet you will have to disengage the motor from the roller, reroll the fabric by hand and reattach the motor. Most of those units have end switched on the motor to prevent overtravel

At the FMCA Rally in Pomona there is a distributor for Carefree. I do not know if they handle the motorized shades, but they had the manuals shades. I spoke with her briefly and she said to give her a call and she will see if they can help. (Disclaimer: I know nothing about them.) RV's "R" Us, Marge Shepherd, 303-232-4416 and 303-232-2714, www.rvsrusinc.com. Good luck!

Abray, you are exactly right. I am in the process of taking it apart now. I will use some stronger glue to reattach the shade material. Assuming I can get the thing back together after the disassembly, it should be good as new. Thanks for everyones comments.
