Shift Pad Placement

We are in the hunt for a full time Class A. We've looked at Newmar, Itasca and the Monaco Diplomat.

When looking at the 2012 Diplomat, it looks like the shift pad is quite a bit forward. I'm only 5'1" and do my share of the driving, but it looks like I'd have a hard reach. Is it as far forward as it looks in the photos?

We're headed to the RV show in Minneapolis this coming weekend and hope to see one and sit in the driver's seat to see if I could reach. If not, I'm afraid that would be a real deal breaker for me.

Thanks in advance for your perspective.

Sue

It does seem like monaco kinda forgot about driver ergonomics....

Still, with rare eceptions, I hit r when ihave to back. N when I'm gonna get out, and d when I'm leaving for the day... so not a big deal.

Now if I couldn't reach the pacbrake switch, that would be a big deal

The adjustable pedals and the tilt wheel may help the driver's position. The seat does have a good deal of forward travel so it may be ok. I guess you'll just have to try it on for size....
