Shore power not charging the chassis batteries

01 Monaco Diplomat chassie batteries not charging on shore power or solar. I just bought this rig in January and it is charging the house batteries but not the chassie batteries. It did before but now doesn't I have checked every fuse and breaker I can find. Does anyone have an idea what I might be missing. Thankyou for any help

I thought most motorhomes don’t charge the chassis battery from shore power unless there has been some modification. Mine does not charge that way.

X2, mine neither, I have a small 5 WATT solar panel permanently connected to my chassis battery; if I don't use the rv for a long period, I use the CUT-OFF switches for chassis and coach batteries.

In 2001/2002 Monaco coaches ABOVE the diplomat (and on the holiday rambler side, above the Endeavor) have a circuit to charge the chassis batteries from shore power. diplomat and below do not.

Chassis battery gets charged by the engine alternator or house batteries through the battery maintainer on my 98 Dynasty.

I am having similar problems....here is my current thread .Chassis Battery not Charging on Shore Power. It might be helpful for you.

There a couple of devices that will allow the chassis battery to be charged when the house battery is being charged. Basically when the house battery voltage comes up some current will flow to the chassis battery. This is perfect to keep both batteries charged when plugged in.

Here is one such device you can add fairly easily.
AMP-L-START Starting Battery Charger/Maintainer - Overview Page

There is also a "echo" charger.

I bought a Amp-L-Start for my rig and putting it in I found Monaco had put in an icolator to do that but had wired it backwards. The amp-l-start didn't last a year so I went to
a electronic shop and bought some diodes and made my own. It works great.

Beer Bottle Cap

A beer bottle cap will hold closed the battery boost switch connecting the house and chassis batteries.

Read it here and works great.
