The stationary payne of glass in our 1/4 round shower decided to explode in the middle of the night. I had heard of the door glass exploding, but not the stationary panel. We were set up, jacks down by noon and about 2:30am the glass just exploded waking us to a major mess. Does anyone know who the manufacturer is so that I can check on a replacement panel? I am hoping the local glass people can do the repair instead of having to take it to a dealer.

Wow!

Knowing that the shower panel is tempered glass I kind of wonder if the coach weight shifted during the night or something to pinch the panel to break it...

Thanks, I have a glass place coming by to check it out and I will give them the info. I figure if I took it on myself I would have to buy more than 1 pane of glass to insure success.

I ended up contacting Shower Enclosures of America and found that they only sell the door or the entire unit and do not stock just the stationery glass panel. They did send me a complete unit for the price they charge Monaco so I bit the bullet and went with it.

I had the same thing happen last year. I took the door apart myself, (it was easier than I thought it would be). I took the empty frame to a local glass shop where they measured it and had to order the glass. It came in in two days, cost around $30 and I had it installed in about 2 hours. Just need a smooth flat surface to slide the glass into the frame and it helps to have someone balance it while you put the sliding door back in place.

Good Luck.

I wish I had seen your reply before I ordered a whole new unit! I had come to the conclusion that a replacement glass was not an option!

Same thing happened to my sister and brother in law in their home last spring. Happened to their bedroom bathroom shower door in the middle of the night ... scared the heck out of them.
