Hey all,

I was just up at storage checking on the MH, and noticed a small amount of water trapped in between the inner and outer skylights in the shower. On further inspection I can see that the outer SL has small cracks (hazing) all around the outer flange. It will have to be replaced. In the meantime I drilled a 1/64th hole in the corner of the inner SL to allow any water buildup to drain into the shower.

I've just spent 45minutes searching for the part, Ahrggg! Can't find a thing. Any I dead where I might find these two skylights?

Thanks

I thought I had a supplier of skylights in my files. I'll have to check later as I'm about to leave for work right now.

Tyler, I replaced the shower skylight on my 2001 Diplomat and I bought the skylight from Monaco parts. On my skylight the inside piece is just a finish piece. The original skylight was a thermopane plastic construction. The new skylight from Monaco has an inner and outer pane. The old skylight had over 40, 3/16" aluminum pop rivets. This was a mess getting off. The old tape Monaco had used had an asphalt/mastic material for waterproofing and I used about 2 quarts of charcoal lighter fluid to get it off. I have pictures of what it looked like if you wan't them. George 2001 Diplomat PBD

George, I tried to find "monaco Parts"....no luck. Do you have a link for them by any chance? I would love to see the picks of yours, it sounds like the same part...inner and outer domes.

LOL, Thank you Mr D. I didn't find anything there that resembles what I have. I may need to find somewhere to park it indoors for a month and remove the SL. I'm thinking it is a two piece unit...inner and outer skylights. Crud

Ours is two separate units. It's still the original one. I clean and polish it yearly using a air force surplus polish I got at a surplus store. Cost a whole dollar for the can some years ago. It's made for helicopter/plane windows. After that I spray with 303 Protectant. So far no cracks or breaks in it. Not even sure if it's plexiglass or Lexan.

I also had a double pane shower skylite that leaked. Luckly it did so around the edges where it was attached to roof by cracks in sealant. I have repaired such with a product called "THRU-THE-ROOF" available at most hardware stores.

Ty... had to replace ours last summer. It's a 5 sided one that was dual thickness. We got a replacement one for the exact size match, but only 1 thickness. Works fine. Got it from replacementrvskylights. They had the "odd" size that no one had... fit fine.
Hope this helps!

To contact Monaco for the older parts contact, www.navistar.com
and you will find a phone # for the parts department. Ask them about the skylight.
