Up In Flames - The hole is probably big enough -- Most likely the cables are out of line -- Look on the slide where the cable attaches to the keeper, & you will see where you can adjust the angle of the cable -- If not perfectly straight, you`ll have the cable fray -- That was the problem I had, & so far, so good -- Bill Willard

William is correct. The biggest problem is that the standoffs that the cable attaches to are out of line...up and down or side to side. Up and down is an adjustment..side to side you have to use spacers or replace the standoff with a narrower one depending on which direction the cable needs to go.

The Vacationer 38PLT has two electric slides in the back that have cables for control...Gramps / Lash, did you say that you have cables on the Living room slide as well? Mine does not have cables on the LR slide, just two hydraulic cylinders at the bottom.

It seems Monaco has the slide of the week. My bedroom wardrobe slideout is cable driven, the bed is an above the floor rack and pinion (track) slideout and the living room is cable driven as well.

Coachmanrvr:

Correct that the LR slide is also cable driven. Right now I have been waiting 3 weeks for warranty claim on 3 cables for LR slide, however I have been told the parts will be in tomorrow and then work will get scheduled. Will let you know how it goes---actually wish or LR slide was hydralic gear also---believe the slide is too heavy for cables even though website says otherwise---guess I would say anything to sell something also if I were a cable vendor.

Regards

Coachmanrvr,

I bet when you lift the bed in your coach, you have storage the whole length of the bed. I have the first third near the foot to store my dining room chairs and that is all. The slideout motor takes up the rest of the space under the bed.

Seems odd that Monaco would put different slide out controls on the same coaches? I think Lash and mine went down the line side by side; so they must just use what ever they come to first.

My curb side slide uses the Accu Slide 4 cable system, my bed uses a bottom connect 2 cable system, and the LR uses hydraulics. Gramps, my bed has the same storage limits you mention.

I have had problems with the wardrobe slide. I have a 2007 HR Neptune 34'. It was in the shop for over 3 weeks waiting for cable from Monaco and approval to apply it to ext. warranty. It had a frayed cable. This same cable broke back in Feb. 2008 and we thought the second time it happened that they hadn't wound it properly the first time.
Now that I'm seeing that many others have the same problem, maybe it's a HR thing???
Another problem that I have had is that the speedometer just stopped working. Apparently, the brains for the instrumentation is in the speedometer. Another warranty problem. BUT, now the odometer registers about 2500 miles because Monaco didn't think to set the new odometer. The coach has over 17000 total miles Needed to have a form notarized stating the correct mileage. This needs to be kept with the coach.
