Mine was not the same as Diplomat Dan's, and there was no way to drimel a channel to remove the awning without compromising the integrety.

My coach is a 2002 Diplomat.

With further internet research. I found mine is a Carefree Omega (Not Omege II). Here are precise removal instructions.

http://www.rvforum.net/miscfiles/Car...ng_Removal.pdf

Here are the installation instructions from Carefree:

http://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/do...11%20Omega.pdf

and an upgrade that was already performed on mine. Maybe by Monaco:

And one other that may assist:

Perhaps this will save someone else from a fews hours of research.

After checking some more and looking at the warrenty info, the warrenty covers everything but the fabric itself.
I have a sneaky feeling that Ill end up paying for the replacement which shouldnt be that much.
Another joy of owning an RV I guess.

We used iron on patch (the same as you use to fix your bluejeans) it worked beautifully.
