We have a 2002 HR Admiral, and have been having a problem with the front slide. It will extend just fine but when it is time to retract I have to go outside and give it a push while hits the retract button. Once it starts moving in it retracts normally. Any solutions??? Thanks

I have the same problem at times with mine. The front curb side slide which has the kitchen sink on it has this problem. I have to grab the sink and give it a small boost to get the slide to finish lifting and move in. We try to be careful and not load that side of the kitchen with too much weight, but I'd love to hear of any solutions to this problem too.

Can you post a picture of the slide mechanism? I had an electrical slide on my Class C Santara (thus my screen name) that had an adjustment to center the slide out in the mechanism. Mine started doing something similar to yours and I found the slide out was "cocked" to one side when extended. An adjustment cured the issue. Also, if it is like the one in the coachmen, there is an electrical adjustment that sets the trip point for turning off at the extended / retracted postion. Sets the current limit for the motor to cut off when it reaches the end points.
Good luck.

You need to lube it. The motor has to work harder bringing it in and so it needs all the help it can get. Dry lube the gears and the rails. Use a lot of lube.

Some lube might help. I found a screw that held the plastic at the end of the carpet was dragging over, and sticking, on the slide ramp. It would almost stop and then lurch forward. Cut the end off the screw(2) and dressed the nylon ramp and no more lurch. It does not take much to stall the slide and maybe there is some sort of obstruction.

On our 2001 Ambassador, the livingroom slide was the same way. Part of the problem came from the engine batteries not being charged while sitting. I put a trickle charger on the engine batteries and that made a world of difference. It wanted to stall getting up the incline from being flush with the floor. Lubrication of the square tubes and gears is also very important. I would use spray silicone on it frequently. Hope this may help. Happy trails Bert

i had this problem and found an adjustment roller on the roof of the basement under the kitchen. it is covered by a plastic cover its about where the kitchen sink is on my rig. it took about five turns on each side of the roller for me and it now slides with no problems. also monaco used putty to glue the cover on i had to use a putty knife after removing the screws to get the cover off. i attached two pictures how ever i'm not use to using attachments hope they come out.
