Slide out height adjustment

This one is probably for some old timers since our coach is one! The slide out is low on the rear causing it to not contact the outboard seal at the top or the wiper seal. Alignment and contact are good at the front and diminishes to the rear. I have looked all over for an adjustment and called Holiday Rambler as well. Since our old girl was built by Monaco before they went out of business the current Monaco/Holiday Rambler folks don't have any info on it. The gentleman I spoke with has been there a long time but could not identify the system. The mechanism is very simple, a spiked wheel that meshes with holes in a square tubing that rides on it. The wheels(front and rear) are the power and the support are mounted on a powered shaft which is carried in flange bearings. everything seems to be welded with no provision for adjustment in height. There is a collar adjustment on the shaft to "time" the front and rear gears(spiked wheels). Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I'll have to use my many years experience as a mechanic to improvise I have a couple of ideas but would prefer to adjust as designed(if there is such a thing). On my coach, on the front slide, I have 3 rollers that can be adjusted. Two of these are under the kitchen cabinets and accessed by removing a drawer and/or the cabinet bottom under the sink. The front is accessed from the outside in the front drivers side wheel well, there is a plastic cover that has to be removed.

There is also an adjustment on each of the support arms where the slide attaches to them.

I had to adjust my rear as the slide roller under the kitchen cabinet as the slide was starting to rub on the floor. About a 15 minute job.

Hi Charlanae; 100%, X2 on the reply you got from Jacwjames. I had to do the exact same thing on my 01 Windsor. Let us know what you find and if you have the problem fixed. Always nice to know.

I think you would do better to join the Rambling Pushers group on Yahoo .
The group has been around for years with many members .
Someone there will probably know exactly how to fix your problem .

Thanks guys! I have looked for access in the bottom of the cabinet under the stove thinking that's where it would be. I don't see anything obvious that would be easily removed. I will go look again. Are your rollers like the ones I described, about 6" in diameter with "spikes" protruding from the outside that engage the slide rail?
RamiDav thanks for the link to Rambling Pushers.

No, these rollers are smooth and carry the weight of the slide.

I don't recall ever seeing or even hearing about a slide mechanism like that .
There is another forum where a long time RV tech hangs out and seems to
know his stuff , he goes by dougrainer
Here's a link to that forum .

I'd like to post some pics of the mechanism but don't know how to do it. They are on my phone so I will probably have to email them to myself?

slide rollers

Our 99 Vacationer 36 wgs has slide rollers accessed from below in storage bays and the one at rear is behind a metal heat shield above generator just use a jack to lift slide and then adjust bolts for roller position

Do you have something like this - where the slide is held up by external "arms" mounted to coach frame with a hydraulic cylinder in the center?

No, there is no hydraulic cylinder. This one has a large roller wheel with spike like teeth that engage the slide rail. Thanks
