Slide out issues...

So..... I have a Monaco Executive 2001. I extended the slide out while remodeling and when I tried to retract, it wonít pull in on the rear side of the slide. When I tried to extend it again, the front side wonít fully extend. If I extend the gen slide, the front end of my LR/kitchen slide goes out to even. When I retract the slide from there it goes wonky again. Now my gen slide wonít go all the way in either.

Help?

Are these both hydraulic slides? If so, check your hydraulic oil level. Is it hooked up to shore power and getting plenty of power? What type of remodeling did you do, could that be effecting how the slide works? I had to work on my motor that runs hydraulic slides in and out, is it running or stopping when things stop moving. There are some solenoids that may be acting up behind your steps on the outside under the coach.

No remodeling that would affect the slide. It’s just the one slide I’m having an issue with. Yes, hooked up to shore power. Plenty of juice in the batteries. The front end of the slide works fine. The rear end of the slide doesn’t want to move. The strangest thing is, the front end evens out with the rear when I engage the generator slide.

And now my generator slide won’t go all the way in. Overnight it crept out more than when I left it last night

Is the slide mechanical or hydraulic? Is it the flat floor or another type?

I had the same symptoms on my HR shortly after getting it home. One minute it's good and the next it's not working.

If it's mechanical, it sounds like a sheared drive bolt or gear pack shaft...

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
First I would be checking the hydraulic fluid level under the steps. Next I’d be looking at the solenoid valves on the hydraulic power pack. Usually it’s electrical from corrosion BUT your symptoms are more likely dirty hydraulic valves if you are not low on fluid. They can be cleaned.

Yeah theyíre both hydraulic and I believe it is the solenoids. I have someone coming out to fix it so I can pick his brains on a few other things too.
Thanks all!

Wow, you have a lot of weird stuff going on, wonder if while remodeling something rolled under slide?
