Add my name to the list of users who have replaced slide toppers with Tough Top Awnings. So far I have replaced three. One to go.

Fit perfectly. Simply measured the width of the existing top and the distance the slide opens. The order arrived in a little over a week. Pretty easy install.

I had to replace some topper/awnings last fall when I came back from Alaska. The ones that were there were put on by Shade-Pro and made by Carefree. The thread started to deteriorate after 2 short years. The Patio awning finally gave up this summer as I don't use it much.

Chris had me another patio awning within a week.

Agree completely on Stone Vos quality. And Chris is a great fellow also.

When I got my slide toppers from him in 2014 he said he was not set up (yet) to make patio awning fabric. Apparently he is now doing that. My patio awning fabric is stretched and will need replacement in the near future.

We hope to be in Bradenton this January so may get that done when there.

Tread is old and should be closed, I feel like an idiot that I even posted here. The OP was back in 2011.

I'm glad to hear about Chris' new company and the availability of the Carefree Omega parts!

I appreciate the fact that this thread is still in service... I am going to be replacing all of my slide toppers and window awning fabric in the near future and it's nice to have this information.... I didn't know about Talin RV.

Doesn't matter as long as it's still serving a purpose!

Gramps....the info is still pertinent and I did not know about Stone Vos or that anyone had the awning parts to go with their awnings. There is no reason to replace old awning fabric, if the mechanicals are broken....so, Stone Vos advantage +1. I am glad this old thread was bumped!

Richard...thanks for the added info.

I live in Vancouver, WA where Tough Tops are made and I used them on the '02 DSDP. They worked great.
I'll have to order from Stone Vos though as Tough Top doesn't make replacement fabrics for my Girard awnings. Already have a fabric sample and ordering info in hand.

If you are only buying based on price you should stick with Camping World!

To answer your question you can't compare prices as the products, workmanship, warranty and quality are not even close to the same so the prices won't be either.

You get what you pay for and then some from Stone Vos!

I was simply looking for a comparison, no need to get snarky.

I suppose so, some rvers still need toppers.

I moderate two other forums and our rules are a bit different about older threads, but I have no power here and didn't need to express my opinion.

When we bought our toppers, Stone Vos gave us quite a few discounts. Education discount, their anniversary & maybe one more (not sure). One bedroom topper & one large living room topper, I was very happy with the price. They'll "work" with you. They also will send you samples of fabric & when you actually buy the toppers they also send a little extra fabric to use for patches "just in case". Call for an estimate, I'm sure both companies will give you one. I've never bought from Tough Tops, but do know that Stone Vos is quality!
