Slider Gear Slipping and Spinning

Hello,
I can use some help again. Got a bit scared this morning when I tried to pull my rear curbside slider in and it stopped half way in, I heard the gear slipping and spinning. I was able to get it back out and then it was in and out about three times before it finally came in all the way with the sound of slipping gears all the way in. The other three sliders work very well. Is it possible to adjust the slider gears to take a deeper bite? If it is adjustable, how is it done and can I do it myself? It really made me very nervous when I thought my slider would not come in all the way. I have a feeling the next time I will not be as lucky.

If this is the slide for the bed slide it is pretty common for the motor gear to break one or more teeth. The gear can be purchased dirextly from Lipper but I also think RV Upgrades (and others) can provide the part. More than likely the slide is binding which resulted in stripped teeth. The Lippert site has instruction on how to adjust. Most of the Monaco bed slide assemblies red by Lippert but a good idea to make sure.

Here is a link to the Lippert slide out page.

Sheared Pin? My 2003 Camelot sheared the pin that "fixes" the gear to shaft. The "PIN" would most likely fail again. Sounds a little crude but I welded the gear to the shaft. After six years on slide in and out no more problems with drive gear.
