Hello , we just bought a monaco night 2005 . ? should you block the slides with a brace when traveling or just pull in slides in and go. We have 4 slides.

I air up, drop levelers then pull in the slides and go..I don't use the locks per say but I do have them just in case......with my luck, someone will go back and push button for slide and I would hear CRUNCH....I don't see the need to put one more thing into the mix to forget to do...

We have a 2008 and you never know when something will fail. The blocks will keep the slides in and people safe both in and out of the coach.
My 2 cents worth. Same reason I wear seat belts all of the time.

Ditto - never secured them with the rods, and through 22,000 miles we never experienced the need for this.
They will wiggle a little less if you remember to pull them in before you go

Never use them, just have them if needed.

I have only one on my large slide behind the driver's seat. When I don't use it, I can hear a slight rattle behind me from the slide moving. I put a big red dot on the slide button. It reminds me to remove the travel arm.

I don't use mine.
Question: If they are truly a safety item , why aren't they used for all slides? I have 4 slides but only 2 (the fronts) have the anchor pin shown in the manual. I did try using them there but couldn't position it without damaging seal on back of slide-out. I know it's probably me, but I gave up.
Another question: If they prevent the slide from creeping out while driving, why don't they have an anchor point on both ends of the slide?

I always use the locks and mine are the manual screw type rod. I put a Velcro pad on the lock, and a mating pad above the switch. Placed a mating pad on a piece of red ribbon and stick the ribbon to the pad above the lock when the locks are in place. When lock is removed the ribbon is stuck to the lock. Simple and keeps from trying to move the slide with the lock in place. Makes a good reminder.
