Thanks

If you click on the link in post # 10 it shows pictures of each system for ID purposes.

Yes they are available, I don't understand the posts that say they are difficult to get. They are not.

Thanks for the info. I was told by the shop that no one makes them and they have sourced a possible provider in Australia - hard to believe! Now I know.

It looks like we have very similar coaches -mine is the Fortress IV model with the same engine as yours.

Last year I had the exact same problem you are having. Replaced the clock spring. No love. Replaced the VIP SM211 module (Bought it from Northwest RV Supply for under $200.00) and the system has worked perfectly since then. Its located exactly where Harry said it is under the left console. There should be a little access plate with 4 screws and beauty caps on them. About a 20 minute job.
Good luck.

Just replaced mine in September. Got it from NWrvsupply. It took about 3 weeks because the manufacturer had it on back order, but it did arrive. Mine is located in the front run bay under the drivers seat outside. It is about 5 x 5 or so and has about 6 white plugs on it. I had to call the company to get some replacement plugs as one had fried from a loose connection I assume. Everything works when completed, but it all worked before hand also. I wanted to get away from the fried plugs and connectors. they are readily available though. Hope this may help, Happy Trails Bert

The SM209 was replaced by the SM210 (called PC Series).

The SM211 is a different series (the V4 series). The wire plugs are different - so if the 211 replaces the 210 you would have to change the connector plugs too.

I just talked to the tech, he is saying that apparently my coach does not use the kind of control module like the SM210, SM211... Rather it uses a body control module located under the driver seat first bay on the outside (not inside the cab). The number on the unit is E02009 or 16623981. He is going to take a picture of it and send it to me. I will post it when I get it.

Does anyone have this setup?

That's very interesting, but thinking about it that was the first year for the multiplex chassis. I'll have to look at the 2008 Beaver Patriot Thunder that's in my back yard.

That would be interesting to know.

I wonder what is the solution?
I'm just thinking if one could isolated the wipers and the cruise control and use the VIPsmart wheel control like the SM210/211? Don't know if that would work!

Hopefully, others with similar setup will chime in.

Thanks

These people make steering controls for boat and have a control module called the Megetech.
Might be worth asking them if they made anything for the RV industry.
