Unhappy Smart Wheel control box location

good evening. I am a first time poster but have spent many hours reading this forum. I own a new to me 2000 40' Monaco Windsor DP. My smart wheel is acting up. All controls function except the cruise control. nothing happens on the cruise buttons. the major problem is I cannot locate the smart control relay box. I have looked in the Drivers side front exterior compartment and in the dash. I have the troubleshooting guide which was posted for the sm209 and sm210 but it does me no good without finding the control box. any ideas? I'Ll take stupid questions for $1,000 bob.

Smart Wheel control box location

It's not mounted on the rear side of the run bay under the drivers seat? Probably says VIP on it?

Make sure engine brake switch is not on. Cruise will not work when switch is on..

Hi Jeff.

No it is not mounted there. The monaco 1 and 2 fuse boxes are as well as the Allison control box. No VIP module

Thanks

Dsallach:
I'm a little newer than you are, but mine is mounted to the side wall behind the drivers side counsel under the window next to the driver's seat.
Good luck,
Mike

My 2000 40' Windsor has the Smart wheel control box mounted behind the radio in the center of the dash. More behind the fan controls, but you get the point.

Hi Darin,
THANK YOU. I had taken the main dash apart but had not looked behind the center console

I recently had a long talk with the senior technician at a large RV Center north of Denver. My cruise control wouldn't engage but the light on the dash would come on. Also, my wiper hi/lo switch would not turn wipers on but the wash and intermittent worked fine. He said the problem is almost always the "clock spring" in the steering wheel. He showed me how to push and pull on the wires going up into the clock spring after removing the plastic cover for the column and my cruise has worked perfectly for 2000+ miles. I am interested in knowing what you find on yours as I am sure mine will act up again...

Best of luck in your repair!
