we have a 2008 Beaver contessa . The smart wheel has not been too smart since we bought the coach. At time the wipers will work and sometimes nothing-no cruise or wipers. Then other times it works fine. We had the entire module replace soon after we bought the coach. It worked fine for about a year and then the same problem started, Lazydays looked at it and they repleace the same module (at our cost), it worked fine for about 4 months and now the same problem is starting over. one day it works fine and then the next trip it doesnt work, today it is working fine both cruise and wipers?? any ideas?

I had intermittent Smart Wheel wiper problems and Newmar found a pinched wire in the steering column.

I too vote for wire problem, some place between the actuators on the column & the module. Hopefully when you bought the new module on your own dime, they gave you the spare, which I'll bet is A-OK.
Take the wire in hand while a turn signal is going, and bend/pull/twist it every inch or so till you find the break. Or just replace the twisted pair all the way.

Try the plug were the column and meets the dash board. Mine would work loose after putting the tilt wheel up. just wiggle it bach together even if it is not disconnected. This is a common problem and solution.

I had the same problem. Mine was also pinched wires in the steering colum. Easy to take plastic cover off and just check connections and move wires around a bit. Thats all I did and work without any problems until I sold the coach.
Good luck

Just wanted to add, seemed to be the tilt wheel that caused the problem so make sure that area has some slack.
