Smoke Detector Chirping every Couple of Minutes

My coach is in storage (in my yard) it's plugged in to 20A shore power and I'm doing some work inside. Every couple of minutes the smoke detector chirps. A single chirp.

I pressed the test button and it alarms as it should and stops, but then a few minutes later it chirps again.

What is causing this? Is this an intentional alarm telling me something is wrong (time to replace smoke detector, or its detecting something that I can not)?

Time to replace the battery. Even household hard-wired detectors have a battery back-up that will chirp when the battery needs replacing.

Could be the battery or the whole unit needs replacing. The do have a life of 10 yrs or less. I replaced both of mine in the MH last year at 10 yrs old.

Yes, I did not look at the OP's year of coach so it might be a good thing to replace the unit.

If doing so, the detectors for an RV are built differently than those for a home and it is not recommended to simply by a home detector and put it in an RV as the vibrations/shocks from constant movement will do them in. That being said, I have no personal experience with the differences, only from what I've read and the fact that detectors for RVs are clearly sold as a product specific to its use and was specified in the user manual from my former MH.

Thanks.
The battery was dated 4/2017. it's a 9V battery (this smoke detector is not hardwired to coach).
I replaced it with a new battery.

I replaced it with a new battery.
I assume the new 9 volt battery cured the problem?
