Yeah, I think with both being connected, when one goes, it takes the other with it. That was the case with mine at least.

The capacitor is an exact replacement based on the numbers on the cap. The PTCR device shown in the picture is indeed replaced by the square device mounted on the new cap.

Thanks very much. The Amazon part is half the price of the PCTR device I had to replace a few months ago.

Check out my old thread in the Cummins forum about dropping a valve in my ISX 650 and what it cost. I also know of another CC owner that had the same thing happen. My CC is # 6999, his is 6998. Neither of us was lucky!

When mine went it physically blew the PTCR into several pieces!

Mine was pretty close to the same. Didn't need to be unplugged from the capacitor !
