My solar install is complete and making juice. The only tweak left is to be able to have the Big Boy not be connected all the time. PC board #6 in the RRB controls both the Dash batt connect switch and the auto function to charge chassis batts. The problem is...Moanco's default on the board is...IF power is available THEN charge the chassis batts. With great FLA sun, power is always/mostly available so the chassis batts are charging at the higher (14.8v) rate that the house batts are getting all of the time (in daylight).

Anybody with a Dynasty or up...AND more than just the Monaco trickle solar have a work around?? My final solution will be to cut the sense wire and use a Battery Minder for the chassis batts. It just seems nuts to have solar making 12v, then inverting to 110v, to make a trickle charger make 12v ..but I do have lots of "free" (relatively) energy to use, Thanks to HandyBob's blog. Just trying to keep it simple.

Thanks for any and all thoughts.

I, like you, listened to HandyBob and now have fully charged batteries. So far, I have had no issues with having the starting batteries tied to the house batteries. A quick solution is to disconnect the Big Boy coil wire from the BIRD. Or, add an on/off switch to that wire and mount it where it suits you.
In case you haven't seen how the BIRD works, take a look Here.

Thanks Harry. Coil wire is off..temporary fix. The bird is not used on Dy's and up. they have a board. I have the 260 page wiring schematics identifying the wires, just not the board functions. And of course this is the board that is buried so I would like other input before I stand on my head to cut/splice.
