I am going to install a solar panel on my 2002 diplomat 36 ft There is a red wire in the batt compartment that I think goes to the roof and I thought I read that it is in light or vent or speaker in the bed room to hook up to the panel on the roof does anybody know????

Thanks John

John, also check the air conditioner on the rear. Some had provisions for solar to be installed on the cover.

John,
While it is possible that "a single red wire" might be your solar connection, look for a unused red wire paired with an unused black wire. Most rigs (if "pre-wired") bring both positive and negative leads down to the battery compartment....rather than use a single red (positive) wire and exploiting a chassis ground somewhere in the roof area (for the negative solar panel connection).

Ours (in our 04 Camelot) was behind the bedroom tv. Greg at AM Solar located it. It then goes to the refrigerator vent.

Anybody know where the "wire" is on a 2011 Monaco Cayman or a 2010, 2009 Cayman? I think they are the same, but I may be wrong.

On the 09 Cayman wiring diagram, it says "BP solar panel, Located on top of coach roof, near refer".

I don't know if the wire is already there but it should...

Good luck.

Thank you Cayman09, but with a full wall slide including the refer there is no vent going to the roof. If there is will then there is a way I will figure it out.
