...SacsTC has been doing another project in the rig. He wanted to shut off the 12V power to the coach so he turned off both the chassis and the coach battery main disconnect switches. (These are the switches that are located in the battery bay.) Imagine his surprise when he gets back inside the coach and the radio is still on. He did turn it off by shutting off the "salesman switch" located by the front door.

Are any of you good at that math stuff ...you know..."if a=b and b=c...then "a must also = c" ...in other words.. .This means your radio is still drawing power for all of you who have bypassed that switch! (and possibly other things that draw power through that solenoid.)

..then again ...maybe it is just our coach and no one else has this situation. It could be something else to check out if your batteries keep going dead.

Of course Monaco makes no two coaches alike. The only time my radio will play is with the key on. Probably this is because mine doesn't use the radio DVD player as part of the entertainment system.

If the radio was powered with both the chassis and house switched to the disconnect position it sounds like the salesman switch is wired prior to the battery side of the switch which it should not be. Another possible option would be a defective disconnect switch. When I switched off the house and chassis disconnect switches our coach was dead from a 12v perspective. Our '06 does not have the DVD/radio option and will shut off with either the salesman switch is turned off or the house battery disconnect is set to open. Harry is correct that not 2 coaches are wired the same. I suspect some are not wired correctly as well. I had a problem with dim headlights which turned out they were wired incorrectly and were not powered by a separate dedicated 12v source connected to the 12v buss.

My House battery cutoff switch failed on our last trip and I had to wire it direct till we got a new one. The new switch is here so while installing the new one I'll check out the radio to see if it still works. The salesman switch has been wired around for about a year now.

I turned off both battery switches awhile back (Forget the reason) only to discover that I still had power in the front distribution box. It was coming from the converter. According to the wiring diagram, that should have been feeding the bay heater, electric sofa and a couple of other items not related to the front distribution box. Must have been getting some backfeed. And yes, my inside battery switch is by passed.
