In replacing my windshield wiper blades (purchased from Costco) found I need to replace the bolt (about one inch long and threaded about 1/8 inch) and nut. I damaged the threads on one so thought I would replace both. Does anyone have a source for this? Thanks.

One great source for odd bolts and fasteners, both English and Metric, is ACE Hardware. I find myself going there quite often and purchase a lot of stainless hardware there. Ask one of the associates to help as it may be hard to locate on your on.

Maybe this will help.

MY wipers had a weird step down bolt---a thick shaft and a very small threaded end. The little nut would not stay on. My cub bear hands kept dropping them and finally---one was lost (on a trip of course and it was raining) . Never could find a replacement ran all ove town so I went to a place like ACE (they have lots of stuff) and found two stainless bolts with the "keeper" nuts----I drilled out the wiper arm location to fit and when I get new blade I just quickly increase the hole diameter to fit----ended my problem----I look through the windshield at my shiny stainless bolts and know they are not going to fail or fall off.

When I snapped my bolts when changing the wipers, I picked up some stainless bolts and nylon lock nuts at Lowes. With the nylon lock nuts you do not have to snug them to the arm, you can leave 1/32 or so play. Been good for two years now. Hope this helps you out.

Rome Truck Parts specialize in heavy duty wiper systems for trucks and RV. They had that small bolt and lock washer. Give them a call at 706 295-4345. Winnebago no longer stocks these small parts, they sent me to Rome Truck Parts. 05 Vectra.
