I do not have the facilities to do my own oil changes and usually take my coach to a truck service and spend over $400 for an oil change lube and fuel and oil filter changes. I happened to stop in Corning CA for fuel today and noticed a Speedco service facility next door. I was due for an oil change and decided to give them a try. I was very impressed with their service. You can watch every thing they do right down to the re torque on the oil pan and diffrerential bolts. I also had them do an oil analysis on site. The total bill came to $238 after a 3% FMCA discount. I wish there were more locations. Anyone else try Speedco?

Another vote for Speedco. They are professional, knowledgeable and get you in and out usually in less than 45 minutes for about $220.00, lube, oil, oil filter and 2 fuel filters. I like it that you are the only one to enter the coach. (No dirty foot prints!) Did not know about the FMCA discount. Thanks for the tip.

I tried my local one for a lube. They missed a couple of slack adjusters and the spline. That job was worth less than I paid.

Speedco is fast and cheap. I used them once and will continue to use them even though they have no locations in Canada.

Good idea about handing the Tech a copy of service points. I went to the same place as phranc in #22.

Good news is I found a place 10 minutes from the house and he topped up the spline and missed points, no charge. Going to have coolant and an oil change done there later this month. He took me in the pit and showed me how to lock out the rear brake pots should I have a problem. He also took the time to show me how the adjusters work. Easy to sched with, too.

Would you expand/explain the comment: "lock out the rear brake pots".
Thanks.

Sure, with my limited understanding in mind.

The park brakes are spring loaded to the on position. The spring is in the rear brake chambers. If the chamber has an internal leak then the air pressure can not overcome the spring pressure and you are stuck. There is a screw mechanism to manually turn and over come the spring so as to release the park brake. This can also be used when towing, also. Keep in mind this is a very powerful spring and care must be taken and air pressure off.

Stopped at the Speedco at Ruther Glen Va. for a on the road oil change. Came in slightly over $200. Did a good job. They didnt have a filter for my water separator so I will have to pick one up on the road somewhere and do it myself but other than that it was money well spent. Which they had Speedco in Canada as the last oil change I got done was $450. Will do my own from now on but for $200 its not worth the hassle.

Saved a lot of money by having a service done at Speedco in Corning, Ca but then had my front tires balanced and rotated at their recommendation. Woke up the next morning with the right front rim resting on the ground and the center hub missing. Had to pay to get a mobile guy to air up tire. I returned to Speedco and they told me my rim was bent. After one month the company reimbursed me for the mobile tire service. The customer service representative is wonderful and offered to replace the center hub. The tire shop claims the bent rim was not caused by them.

The experienced tainted my view of Speedco.
