As the Splendide manual states:

"No more messy lint filter cleanings! Lint
passes safely through a ˜self-cleaning
pump' and then out the drain or dryer
vent in your Splendide."

We have an outside vent and the manual also states to "check" it occasionally. I am surprised there is no lint filter and wonder if anyone has had a problem with lint buildup in the discharge line. Our unit is new and has been used very little but the idea of lint buildup and possible fire, not an uncommon thing in some dryer installations, is a bit unsettling. Any feedback folks have would be appreciated.

You need to clean the "self cleaning" lint filter while the machine is in the spin cycle. I think your owner's manual should tell you how.

Lew,

On our last motorhome DW used the Splendide for about 7 years. We were out approx 250 nites per year. We campground host for 2 to 3 months in a season. Never had a problem. Check the vent occasionally like the book says and check the screen in the drain. Traded for an '01 Dip 2 years ago and no problems there either.

Green lights and soft breezes.

Lew, we are full-timers and run our Splendide 5 or 6 loads a week. We get a very small amount of lint around the dryer vent that I clean off every few months. The lint is mostly inside the cover and around the edges of the flapper. Sometimes there is a little fine lint a few inches down the side of the coach. As I look inside the flapper valve, I don't see any lint inside the exhaust hose. The statement that most of the lint goes out the water drain seems pretty accurate.

According to Splendide and the book on ours there is no lint filter. The lint basically does wash away. We have had our for six months now and the wife washes two or three days a week. Have yet to see lint on the vent or in the washer.

Our Splendide 2100 vented, has a screen to catch anything that would damage the water pump, it's not actually a lint filter, but should be cleaned out per maintenance recommendations.
The dryer vent hose will accumulate lint inside. It should be removed and cleaned occasionally, or use a dryer hose brush from the outside while it's in the dry mode. The lint will be blown right out at you though.

Dry time is most frequent complaint with the COMBO.
When used as a washing machine, the combo will wash a large load. However,
when used as a dryer, it will dry a load only half the size of the maximum
wash load.
This is because the clothes need more room to tumble to allow the air
to flow through as they dry.
Notice that a dryers drum is almost twice
the capacity of the washers.= less wrinkles

Brunter, we run the dry cycle separate from wash cycle and only put half the wash load in the dryer. We take the clothes out as soon as dry and then smooth them out to reduce wrinkles. Our experience is that if you let the dry cycle automatically follow the wash cycle you will have wrinkled clothes. Our only complaint is that it takes a long time to dry.
